Our Supported Charities

Charity is an important aspect of what we do at Key Enviro Solutions. We believe in doing business differently, so apart from helping our clients achieve fantastic results, we give some of our time to help local charities excel. We believe in inspiring, supporting and empowering others, helping those with less resources amplify their impact.

Our chosen charities are selected for their great work and desire to have a better digital footprint, as well as:

  • A real enthusiasm for digital – Are already active digitally and have a desire to do it better
  • Hold and cherish the same values & ethical beliefs we do
  • In some cases, they are lucky enough to have a top-level structure (for example a board, trustees or management) to help drive the project(s) forward
  • In some cases, they are small enough that our support will make a real difference and free up members of the team to concentrate on fundraising
  • Focus each and every individual The caring teams always give 100% to ensure that the charities we help have the support they need.

The Key Enviro Solutions aim is to make a big difference to as many charities as possible with the minimum of fuss and without the need for ‘red tape’. Any request for assistance will be considered in an open, friendly, understanding and sensitive manner.

We believe that by collaborating with global partners, we will bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Our work to reduce global cancer burden with our partners includes:

  • Working with civil societies and research institutes around the world to grow a policy evidence base which can be used to call for regional, national or local change that will prevent cancer incidence in low and middle income countries
  • Supporting world-class cancer research that brings together the best minds from around the globe to tackle cancer’s biggest challenges
  • Partnering with and learning from organisations and government agencies within Europe who share our mission of beating cancer sooner – Collaborating across multiple disciplines and continents to research and improve differences in outcomes for people with cancer Improving the translation of early detection and diagnosis cancer research for better patient outcomes

British Heart Foundation – Spotlight

Key Enviro Solutions supports The British Heart Foundation in all they do here are a few words from them about what they do and what they have achieved: –

Our vision is a world free from the fear of heart and circulatory diseases. We raise money to research cures and treatments, so we can give people more time with the ones they love. Heart attacks that strike without warning, strokes that shatter futures, newborn babies born with broken hearts. These are just some of the cruelties of cardiovascular disease. And the brutal reality is, there is so much more for science to discover before we can beat the world’s biggest killers.

That’s why British Heart Foundation exists. Funding research is how we change the game. And we all have a role to play. The tools we have at our disposal today – from heart transplants and pacemakers to stents and portable defibrillators – are all down to research. Research made possible by people like you. When we join forces, we can make the impossible possible. We can take the best and brightest ideas from scientists’ minds and help turn them into treatments you can get at your GP.

We can make theories on pages jump into reality. Our research can save your life and your family’s lives. But without you? It all stops tomorrow. Medical breakthroughs don’t just happen. Driven by love, donations and awe-inspiring science, we make them happen together.

Together we are…

  • – Saving lives with science
  • We have been funding science since 1961. Heart transplants, pacemakers, portable defibrillators and valve replacements are all breakthroughs we have helped fund.
  • Tackling health inequalities
  • We’re shaping and influencing Government policy to create a world free from the fear of heart and circulatory disease.
  • Helping people in their hour of need
  • From our Heart Helpline to information backed by clinical experts, we help those living with heart and circulatory diseases to get the best guidance, support and access to the services they need.
  • Raising valuable funds
  • You are our heroes.

Whether you’re donating money and items, fundraising or volunteering your time, it’s your support that helps fund our life saving research.

Young Lewisham Project – Spotlight

About Us

The Young Lewisham Project provides a safe, inclusive learning environment where young people can maximise their chances of becoming valued members of society. Through enrichment, alternative educational courses and team recreational activities we aim to re-engage young people, increase their confidence and well-being along with improving their skills and self-esteem.

Humble Beginnings

In 1974 a group of Lewisham residents were frustrated by the fact that a few of the young people in their neighbourhood were becoming involved in anti-social behaviour and getting into trouble with the police; stealing motorbikes was a big problem. The residents knew that this behaviour was largely because the young people had nothing to do. It was then that one of the residents came across a project in Birmingham that had set up a workshop for young people so that, instead of stealing motorbikes, they would do them up. Together the local residents turned one of their garages into a small workshop and encouraged the local youths to come along and learn the basics of mechanics. The Young Lewisham Project was born.

The Here and Now

The Young Lewisham Project offers a wide range of supportive alternative vocational programmes to young people who may not be achieving in mainstream education. We deliver projects, activities and trips during term time and over the weekend, although we do not replace statutory provision. Programmes take place each week on our site in our workshops, activities include motorbike mechanics & bicycle maintenance, woodwork, furniture restoration and upcycling, art and crafts, gardening and allotment work and cooking. Residential trips and off-site activities also take place throughout the year. We work with up to 200 young people each year who are referred by partner agencies. Support Us The Young Lewisham Project is a registered charity that receives no statutory government funding, we rely heavily on grant and foundation funding to subsidise our projects and activities to make them accessible for all. We are constantly looking for ways to raise funds to ensure the magnificent work we do and the help we give to young people can continue.

The Oaks Specialist College – Spotlight

The Oaks Specialist College is a Not-for-Profit organisation established in 2018, supporting young adults aged 18 to 25 with learning difficulties across Kent and surrounding areas. In 2023, Ofsted awarded us Outstanding in all areas – a testament to our learners, staff, trustees, and wider community who make this provision exceptional.

A True Community

‘Community’ is central to everything we do. Within the college, we foster a supportive environment where learners’ voices shape our approach. We also actively engage with local residents, professional networks, and businesses to build meaningful partnerships and wider learning opportunities.

Learner Voice

Our student council, Learner Voice, includes representatives from all pathways, meeting regularly to raise concerns, share feedback, and plan events. This empowers students to play an active role in shaping college life.

One powerful example of this in action was our learners’ campaign for earlier use of bus passes before 9:30am. They raised the issue at the Natspec Student Parliament, sparking national debate. With Natspec’s help, our students wrote to MPs and pushed for a written parliamentary question – a process still ongoing.

Local Partnerships: F.E.A.S.T

We’re proud to partner with F.E.A.S.T, a local initiative addressing food inequality. Our learners regularly volunteer at the food bank, café, and toddler group. We’ve also set up a community larder on-site at The Oaks, with learners running a hospitality hub offering free tea, coffee, and cake – boosting both their practical and communication skills.

Business Engagement

Business partnerships are key to our transition-to-work programmes. Our pop-up shop, Love That!, returned to Royal Victoria Place in Tunbridge Wells, with support from BNY Mellon. Their volunteers worked directly with learners on product development and marketing, strengthening creativity and enterprise skills.

Professional Networks and Supporters

The Oaks is part of a wide range of networks, allowing us to collaborate and grow professionally. We are a Microsoft Showcase College for a second consecutive year, recognised for using technology to foster independence among young adults with learning difficulties.

We are also deeply thankful for the continued support from charitable foundations, helping us to expand our reach and impact.
